Drill rod spinning into the ground at a night job site, lit in neon green

Horizontal directional drilling · El Paso, Texas

Precision underground boring for the networks that connect us.

Underground Architects bores conduit and pipe under roads, driveways and finished ground, so your project moves forward with less digging at the surface.

What we do

Underground work, start to finish.

Directional boring, telecom conduit, trenching, infrastructure builds, traffic control support and restoration, all from one team.

Why trenchless

Less digging. Fewer closed lanes.

The drill head is steered underground and tracked from the surface, then the conduit is pulled back through the bore. Digging is mostly limited to the entry and exit pits.

Our process

How a UGA bore comes together

Six clear steps, so you know what comes next.

  1. 01 Plan We review the plans and white-line the proposed project.
  2. 02 Locate Coordinate utility locates and perform potholing to verify existing underground utilities.
  3. 03 Bore Assess soil conditions and crossing requirements before working with you to establish and finalize project scope. Then the pilot bore is drilled, steered and tracked from the surface along the planned path.
  4. 04 Pull back The bore is opened to size and conduit or pipe is pulled back through it.
  5. 05 Restore Pits are closed, surfaces are put back and the work area is cleaned up.
  6. 06 As-built Bore records and photos become a clean as-built of where the line actually went.
