Safety

Safety is the first step of the bore.

Underground work means working around lines you cannot see. That is why safety comes before speed on every UGA job.

Locate before we dig

We call 811 before we dig, and we plan the bore around the marked utility lines.

Safe work zones

Traffic control and a clear work zone protect the crew, drivers and people walking by.

Track the drill head

A walkover locator follows the drill head from the surface so the bore stays on its planned path.

Plan the route first

We review the route, the crossings and the existing utilities before the first pit is opened.

Keep good records

Bore records and job photos are kept, so everyone knows where the new line went.

Leave it clean

Pits are closed and the surface is restored, so no hazards are left behind.

Safety-first practice

What safety looks like on the job

Before any digging, underground utilities are located and marked. We plan the bore path around them, keep the drill head tracked from the surface, and set up a safe work zone around the pits and equipment.

When the bore is done, we close the pits and restore the surface so the site is safe for everyone who uses it next. Want to know how we would handle a specific site? Ask us when you request a bid.
